The Frost Place Museum, Franconia – The Frost Place is a great location to visit if you are looking for places to explore in the White Mountains region. Located at 158 Ridge Road in Franconia, New Hampshire, this is Robert Frost’s old homestead. He and his family lived in the old homestead from 1915-1920. Now a nonprofit educational center for poetry, the old farmhouse is owned by the town of Franconia.
Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. He is one of the most recognized American poets of the 20th century, and much of his poetry focused on the landscape of New England.
If possible, plan your visit to the homestead during the Annual Celebration of Lupines Festival in Sugar Hill. The Annual Celebration of Lupines Festival runs annually during the first few weeks of June. During June, the fields of Sugar Hill and the surrounding area are transformed into a mesmerizing display of purple lupine.
From the rusted mailbox to the chairs on the porch, nothing represents rural America better than this classic New England homestead. If you're a New England travel photographer, you should have a couple homestead photos in your image archive; they are excellent representations of old New England.
