Sawyer River Railroad

Owned and operated by the Saunders Family, the Sawyer River Railroad (1877-1928) was a ten-mile long, more or less, logging railroad in Livermore, New Hampshire (in the White Mountains region of the state). The railroad began off of the Maine Central Railroad, near Forth Iron Bridge, and traveled into the Sawyer River valley. Also owned by the Saunders Family, the abandoned village of Livermore is along the old railroad right-of-way.
